Speechify is seeking a senior Windows desktop engineer to design, build, and own our Windows desktop applications across the Windows App SDK and WinUI stack. You will drive architecture, improve performance and accessibility, and collaborate with product designers, QA, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop app development using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML
• Experience with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM) is a plus
• Strong understanding of Windows architecture and interop between .NET and native code
• Experience designing, building, and shipping production desktop apps with focus on performance, reliability

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and potentially C++
• Define and enforce best practices for code architecture, performance, memory usage, and cross-version compatibility
• Drive accessibility efforts: UI Automation, keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, and inclusive UX
• Collaborate with designers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap
• Own full lifecycle of features from conception to release and maintenance
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, or rendering issues
