Job summary

Ithaca Energy in Aberdeen invites applications for a Senior Well Engineer. Reporting to the Wells Engineering Team Lead, you will oversee well design, planning and operations across Ithaca assets, ensuring UK regulatory compliance and high HSE standards.

You will mentor drilling engineers, lead technical scopes, manage risk assessments (HAZID/HAZOP) and coordinate with service providers to optimise asset value while driving continuous improvement and innovation in drilling operations.

Qualifications

• Team leadership and supervision across drilling teams.
• Strong knowledge of well engineering principles and practice.
• Proven ability to manage drilling operations with HSE at the forefront.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Ithaca well designs and drilling programmes to UK standards.
• Oversee well planning and compliance with the Well Delivery Process.
• Lead risk assessments (HAZOP/HAZID) prior to execution.
• Develop scopes of work and technical specs for procurement.
• Mentor Drilling Engineers and coordinate with service providers.
