Job summary

ALTEN Group is seeking a Mehanical Engineer – Welding/Fabrication to provide technical oversight and manufacturing support for fabrication, welding, inspection and testing activities. The role interfaces with engineering, quality, project teams and suppliers to drive manufacturing excellence and resolve production challenges across the fabrication lifecycle.

Applicants should have significant welding/fabrication experience in heavy engineering or regulated industries, plus CSWIP or equivalent is

Qualifications

• Significant fabrication and welding experience in heavy engineering or regulated industries.
• Experience supporting fabrication suppliers or subcontractors.
• Involvement in inspection and testing activities.
• Ability to review technical manufacturing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to fabrication suppliers throughout manufacturing activities.
• Review drawings, specs, and manufacturing documentation.
• Support root cause investigations for weld defects.
• Ensure processes comply with standards and customer requirements.
• Liaise with quality teams on NDT requirements and acceptance criteria.
