Job summary

Ofwat is recruiting for a Principal Water Supply Technical Specialist to join the Water Quality, Resilience and Security sub-team. Based in Birmingham (B5 4UA) or London (E14 4HD) with hybrid working, you will oversee regulatory analyses across price controls and investments, collaborating with DWI, Defra, EA and NRW to deliver robust decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in engineering, science, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and influence decisions.
• Strong numerical skills with experience in leading complex technical analysis and providing evidence-based recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Direct the analysis of Company Delivery Plans, PCDs and APR data to oversee company performance.
• Liaise with water companies through the large scheme process to capture risks and support cost-effective delivery.
• Review information and assessments for cost change and ensure evidence-based decisions.
• Direct the development of benchmarking models and govern their population.
• Contribute to the next price review framework and Costing options for water quality, resilience and security.
