Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to lead the design and technical assurance of complex water engineering schemes. You will provide expert process engineering support to project delivery teams and act as a technical authority through to commissioning and handover.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status (or clear progression) and a degree in Process Engineering, with a strong track record of mentoring engineers and delivering compliant, innovative solutions in the water

Qualifications

• Significant process engineering experience within the water sector.
• Strong track record leading complex engineering projects and providing technical leadership.
• Experience mentoring and developing engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Collaborative approach and commitment to inclusive engineering environment.
• Degree in Process Engineering and Chartered Engineer status or progression toward chartership.

Responsibilities

• Leading the design and technical assurance of complex water engineering schemes.
• Providing expert process engineering support to operational teams and project delivery programmes.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and asset standards.
• Acting as a key technical authority, approving designs through to commissioning and handover.
• Mentoring and developing a team of engineers, creating a high-performing engineering culture.
• Managing and reviewing outputs from engineering design partners for technical excellence and value.
• Supporting complex incident investigations and driving process improvements.
