Job summary

The Compleat Food Group in Thorne is seeking a reliable FLT Operative / Warehouse Operative to support our chilled food manufacturing site. You will ensure packaging readiness, move goods to appropriate storage, and assist with despatch preparations.

Your role includes operating a counterbalance FLT, conducting daily safety checks, and maintaining GMP standards while working on a Monday to Friday 13:45–21:45 shift. The position emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and adaptability.

Qualifications

  • A valid Counterbalance FLT Licence.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments, including chilled and frozen storage.
  • Reliable and punctual approach to work.
  • Flexibility and willingness to support the team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the boxing area has packaging for upcoming production and during the shift.
  • Move finished goods to chilled or frozen storage.
  • Load/unload vehicles using an FLT when required.
  • Check incoming raw materials and place them in the correct locations.
  • Enter stock into the stock control system accurately.
  • Rotate stock and perform daily stock counts.
  • Pick and prepare customer orders for despatch.
  • Carry out daily FLT safety checks.
  • Check finished products for damaged packaging before dispatch.
  • Complete paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Maintain high GMP standards throughout the shift.
  • Clean and tidy working area and follow site safety rules.
  • Carry out cleaning tasks with safe use of chemicals.
  • Follow HACCP, COSHH and PPE requirements.
  • Collaborate with teammates to maintain smooth production flow.

We’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and hands‑on FLT Operative / Warehouse Operative to join our busy team in Thorne.

You’ll play a key role in keeping our operation moving – making sure production has the packaging it needs, finished products are

stored correctly, orders are picked and ready for despatch, and deliveries are loaded and unloaded safely.

As we work within food manufacturing, quality, food safety and attention to detail are at the heart of everything we do.

What will you be doing?

No two days are exactly the same! Your responsibilities will include:

  • Making sure the boxing area has the packaging it needs for upcoming production runs and throughout the shift.
  • Moving finished goods safely from the boxing area into chilled or frozen storage.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles using an FLT when required.
  • Checking incoming raw material deliveries and placing them into the correct storage locations.
  • Accurately entering stock onto the stock control system.
  • Rotating stock to ensure products are managed correctly.
  • Completing daily stock counts.
  • Picking and preparing customer ordersfor despatch.
  • Carrying out daily FLT safety checks.
  • Checking finished products to make sure damaged boxes are not sent to customers.
  • Completing all required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Maintaining high GMP standards throughout your shift.
  • Following a clean-as-you-go approach and keeping your working area safe and tidy.
  • Carrying out cleaning tasks, including the safe use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Following all site food safety and health & safety procedures, including HACCP, COSHH and PPE requirements.
  • Working closely with your teammates to help production flow as smoothly as possible.

  • A valid Counterbalance FLT Licence.
  • Previous experience working within a warehouse environment.
  • The ability to work comfortably in both hot and cold environments, including chilled and frozen storage areas.
  • A reliable and punctual approach to work.
