Arco: Experts In Safety is seeking a Senior Warehouse Operative based in our Hull distribution centre. You will lead a small team, drive performance, and take responsibility for sickness, absence, holidays and workload, operating on a rotating shift pattern from 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00, Monday to Friday.

You will ensure safety, train staff and contribute to continuous improvement. You will manage adherence to SOPs, use SAP/WMS, and coordinate performance reviews, ensuring efficient dispatch

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety.
• Product knowledge including pack quantities and quality.
• Good literacy and numeracy.
• Drive for continuous improvement.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Operatives and support on continuous improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with operating procedures and use SAP/WMS systems to meet targets.
• Manage quality of work, planning, and utilization while monitoring performance and absence.
• Be responsible for Health & Safety at all times.
• Communicate with the team and act as point of contact for colleagues.
• Analyse and resolve standard operational problems using WMS/SAP.
• Manage team performance and conduct reviews.

About The Role

If you’re an experienced Warehouse Operative looking for the next step in your career, this could be a brilliant role for you! Our cutting-edge Distribution Centre in Hull dispatches roughly 300 pallets and 8,000 parcels daily to 25,000 customers across the UK and Ireland. As a Senior Warehouse Operative, you’ll manage a small team within our DC to achieve our objectives, being responsible for driving performance as well as taking on people management responsibilities such as managing sickness, absence, holidays and workload. The shift pattern for the role is rotational between 06:00 - 14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00, Monday to Friday, with no contractual weekend or bank holiday working. Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as a lead Warehouse person, working closely with your Team Leader to manage your team of Operatives and support on continuous improvement projects
• Ensuring compliance with a set of operating procedures, using computer and manual systems to achieve agreed operational targets
• Managing the quality of work produced alongside resource planning and utilisation alongside performance and absence management
• Being responsible for Health & Safety at all times
• Communicating with your team, being the point of contact, helping and advising colleagues
• Analysing and resolving standard operational problems, including use of the Warehouse Management/SAP Systems
• Managing your team’s performance and conducting performance reviews

The ideal Senior Warehouse Operative will be/have:

• Previous warehouse experience
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety
• Product knowledge including pack quantities and quality
• Good level of literacy and numeracy
• A strong will to achieve departmental goals and seeking continuous improvement
• Accuracy, and the ability to instil this as a key measure within the Department
• Basic IT skills with good knowledge of WMS/SAP systems
