Job summary

The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic nurse to lead Compton Ward, a busy 30-bed surgical ward covering Urology, Breast, Gynaecology and General surgery. The post holder will manage day-to-day ward operations, support staff development and ensure care is delivered to high standards in line with Trust policies.

• Experience at band 6 or above
• Ability to lead a 30-bed surgical ward
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (MDT)

Responsibilities

• Lead Compton Ward and 30-bed surgical unit (Urology, Breast, Gynaecology, General Surgery)
• Oversee day-to-day ward operations and staffing
• Support staff development, appraisal, recruitment and supervision of learners
• Provide specialist advice to patients and multidisciplinary teams
• Drive clinical audit, research, teaching and evidence-based practice
