Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the surgical ward.
• Ensure safe, high-quality patient care and positive patient experience.
• Manage staffing, rostering, recruitment, performance and staff development.
• Lead on patient safety, clinical governance, risk and quality improvement.
• Support effective patient flow, bed management and timely discharges.
• Investigate incidents and complaints and implement learning.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with Trust policies, professional standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage ward resources efficiently and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
