We are looking for Senior Waiting Staff to join our team at the Parsonage Grill.

Roles & responsibilities:
- To consistently act as an ambassador in upholding and monitoring the high standards expected amongst all employees
- To assist the management team with the departmental induction of new employees
- To oversee and assist with the training of new and existing employees in all areas required, including service standards and product knowledge
- Encourage the development and progress of the restaurant staff. Ensure training procedures for restaurant staff are followed and training records are completed and maintained.
- To assist the management team with probationary reviews of new employees by providing feedback throughout their training and probation period
- To carry out hosting shifts when required
- Assist management with daily shift briefings when required
- To represent the company’s high standards of personal presentation & behaviour at all times
- To welcome customers in a friendly & accommodating manner, making a great first impression
- Ensure weekly/daily closing duties are adhered to
- To have an adaptable approach towards out service style, depending on the nature of the business.
- To exceed customer expectations: this includes knowledge, professional and helpful manner by serving food and drink. In addition, a willingness to assist customers in other areas – e.g. calling taxis, giving directions, making recommendations. Hanging up coats, jackets etc.
- To learn and retain a comprehensive understanding of all menu items to ensure maximum benefit to the customer and the ability to work effectively
- To bring a positive attitude to teamwork, contributing to the smooth running of the restaurant and interacting productively with other departments
- To maintain the standards and culture of the team by setting an example to new members of staff and assisting in their training when required
- To prepare the restaurant for service, following established jobs lists and as directed by the manage.
- To up- sell wine and other beverages, as well as side orders or daily specials to maximise revenue wherever possible
- To record all sales accurately including wastage and transfers of beverages
- To be responsible for cash, cheques, credit cards and vouchers received from the customer and to account for these payments at the end of the shift
We offer a sensible shift pattern, across a 40-hour working week (Monday to Sunday rota with two days off) with an OTE up to £19.50 per hour, including non-contractual tronc (service charge).
Part-time hours may also be considered.
