Job summary

Summer-Browning Associates, on behalf of our central government client, seeks a Senior VMware Engineer for initial 6 assignments with the option to extend.

Location options East Kilbride (Glasgow) or London/Hybrid. Active security clearance and a strong VMware/Virtualisation background in a high-threat government environment are essential.

Candidates will work with VMware Cloud Foundation, VSAN, NSX, and automation via PowerShell/PowerCLI in an Agile delivery context.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience administering and supporting VMware technologies including VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), VSAN, NSX, PowerCLI, server hardware, and Aria.
• Thorough understanding of enterprise virtualization, data center infrastructure, and hybrid hosting environments.
• Experience managing VMware upgrades, migrations, lifecycle, and transformations.
• Strong knowledge of VMware security, platform hardening, patch management, and compliance.
• Familiarity with virtual networking concepts and infrastructure integration.
• Advanced PowerShell/PowerCLI scripting skills.
• Experience implementing automation and operational improvements.
• Experience in Agile delivery and project-oriented environments.
