Job summary

Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Senior Practitioner for the Veterans Service Team in Birmingham. The post supports ex-Armed Forces personnel across a wide West Midlands region, delivering high-intensity care and strong liaison with primary and secondary services.

The role requires HCPC/NMC registration, senior supervision experience, and autonomous clinical assessment within a Veteran-focused care pathway.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted registration with HCPC/NMC.
• Experience of supervising qualified staff.
• Ability to work autonomously with complex patient material including crisis intervention and risk management.
• Experience of working as a care coordinator for those with complex needs (MHA/MCA).

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for Veterans on the caseload with identified, complex needs.
• Liaise with local services including secondary mental health and primary care.
• Provide high-intensity support in crisis across a large West Midlands area.
