Job summary

RunThrough, the UK's largest running events company, is seeking an experienced Event Project Manager to join our Manchester team. You will work with the event management crew to deliver mass-participation events across the UK, handling venue management, planning documents and ensuring high standards in delivery.

The role requires at least 2 years of event management experience at a managerial level, a passion for running, and ability to work remotely during the week with weekend on-call

Qualifications

• 2+ years event management experience at managerial level.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working remotely during the week and weekends on a rota.

Responsibilities

• Event Delivery: plan and execute events, lead staff on event days, engage with the running community and participate in debriefs.
• Venue Management: manage relationships with venues and councils, create event management plans and risk assessments, lead planning briefings.
• Team Management: line manage a small team and coordinate cross-functional members.

The Role

We are looking for someone with a keen interest for running and events to join a passionate and growing company.

As Senior Venues Manager, you will be working directly with our event management team to deliver cutting-edge and professional mass-participation running events across the UK. You shall complete the daily tasks of event management to include, but not restricted to event planning and documentation, venue management, and ensuring high-standards are maintained in relation to the preparation and delivery of events.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Event Delivery

• Collaborate with the event team to plan and execute events
• Leading the team on event days, managing staff, contractors and participants to ensure events run smoothly and to the highest standard.
• Interacting with the wider running community to enhance reputation and engagement
• Active participation in debriefs after events

Venue Management

• Maintain and develop relationships with venues, councils, traffic management contractors etc
• Create and update event management plans, risk assessments, planning and briefing documents
• Lead team planning and briefing meetings

Team Management

• Line management of a small team

Person Specification

• The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in live events, an interest in running/sport and be a fast learner.
• They will be comfortable speaking to people from different industries, building relationships and developing relationships with new and existing stakeholders.
• Passionate about physical activity and running.
• Able to work to strict deadlines and calm under pressure
• Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and remotely during the week.
• Willing to work on weekends on a rota basis (average of 2 weekends per month)
• Knowledge of the U.K running industry.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence and willing to drive a van
• Experience working live events
• Previous experience in managing relationships with venues, councils, or other clients.
• Coaching and volunteer experience.
• Working within a multidisciplinary team.
