Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Leeds is seeking an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to join a busy, family-run garage in Leeds. You will diagnose, service and repair a high volume of light vehicles, ensuring safety and performance while maintaining a Right First Time ethos.

This role offers Mon-Fri hours with no weekends, a basic salary around £34,000-£36,000 plus monthly profit share and annual bonuses, plus generous perks including pension, vehicle discounts and free secure parking.

Qualifications

• 6-7 years proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Prior management, supervisory, or workshop lead experience (or readiness to step up)
• Strong diagnostic ability, sound judgment, job pricing knowledge, and effective communication skills
• A full UK driving licence and current UK work authorisation

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics & Mechanical Repairs: diagnose, service, and repair a high volume of light vehicles to ensure safety and performance
• Technical Oversight: read/interprete technical schematics, use hand/power tools, perform complex repairs
• Workshop Leadership & Administration: assist with job pricing, decision-making, customer relations, and daily workshop flow with the Service Manager
• Quality & Safety: maintain clean working conditions, adhere to health and safety standards, uphold Right First Time ethos
