Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd is seeking a Senior Vehicle Technician / Workshop Controller for a reputable independent automotive workshop in Rugby. The role combines hands-on diagnostics and maintenance with supervisory responsibilities to lead the team.

You will perform advanced diagnostics, mentor technicians, and ensure high quality workmanship while meeting manufacturer standards and supporting workshop operations in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• MOT Tester accreditation.
• Proven diagnostic skills with fault resolution.
• Previous experience in a senior or Senior Vehicle Technician role.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics and fault-finding.
• Conduct servicing, repairs, and routine maintenance to manufacturer standards.
• Lead MOT testing procedures.
• Act as the workshop’s technical expert, supporting the team with complex issues.
• Mentor and support other technicians.
• Ensure timely completion of work and uphold quality standards.
• Assist with workshop operations and technical troubleshooting.
