Job summary

Hawk Hiring is helping a long-established independent garage in Worcester recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester. You will balance official DVSA Class 4 testing with multi-brand servicing in a modern workshop with good tooling.

The package includes a salary range of £35,000–£45,000 per annum (DOE) plus a team productivity bonus, 20 days of annual leave, statutory holidays, and free on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Active, valid DVSA Class 4 MOT Tester Licence (Mandatory).
• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or time-served equivalent).
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct official Class 4 MOT tests in line with DVSA standards.
• Perform servicing, VHC checks, and preventive maintenance across makes/models.
• Execute mechanical repairs including brake rebuilds, clutches, suspensions, timing belts.
• Use multi-brand diagnostic tools to read fault codes and reset service indicators.
• Maintain digital job cards and liaise with the service desk on repair timelines.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct official Class 4 MOT tests in full compliance with DVSA standards and regulations
• Perform routine scheduled servicing, vehicle health checks (VHC), and preventative maintenance across various makes and models
• Execute general mechanical repairs, including brake rebuilds, clutch kits, suspension overhauls, and timing belts
• Utilize multi-brand diagnostic tools to read fault codes, reset service indicators, and assist with fault isolation
• Maintain accurate digital job cards and communicate clearly with the service desk regarding repair timelines

Candidate Profile

• MOT License: Active, valid DVSA Class 4 MOT Tester Licence (Mandatory)
• Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or time-served equivalent)
• Technical Capability: Strong practical experience across all-makes servicing and core mechanical repair work
• Mindset: Thorough, detail-oriented technician dedicated to accurate testing standards and clean craftsmanship
• Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence
