Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Kettering is seeking a confident Vehicle Technician for a 5-day week at a respected family-run independent workshop. You’ll handle heavy repair work and take ownership of major tasks in a 6‑technician team that values clean, precision craftsmanship.

Salary is £35,000–£38,000 per year (DOE) with a Monday–Friday 08:00–17:30 schedule, no weekends, generous holiday allowance and a company pension. The workshop is equipped with modern diagnostic suites and tools.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
• MOT Licence preferred, not essential.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Take lead ownership of major mechanical repairs (engine overhauls, timing chains, cambelts, clutches, gearboxes).
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Perform routine servicing, preventative maintenance and vehicle health checks (VHC).
• Collaborate with fellow technicians to ensure right-first-time turnarounds.
