An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Vehicle Technician / Diagnostic Technician to join independent vehicle repair garage providing servicing, MOT testing, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs delivering reliable vehicle maintenance with transparent advice.
As a Senior Vehicle Technician / Diagnostic Technician, you will carry out vehicle servicing, fault diagnosis, and mechanical repairs while supporting the smooth operation of a busy workshop.
This role offers a salary range of £40,000 - £50,000 and benefits.
You will be responsible for:
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs across a range of petrol, diesel, and hybrid vehicles.
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
- Completing repairs including brakes, suspension, exhaust systems, clutches, timing belts, and timing chains.
- Carrying out head gasket replacements and other major mechanical repairs.
- Completing MOT-related repairs accurately and efficiently.
- Identifying additional repair requirements and communicating findings to the service team.
- Maintaining accurate records for completed work.
- Supporting other technicians when required and helping maintain a professional workshop environment.
What we are looking for:
- Previously worked as a Senior Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, Car Mechanic, Car Technician or in a similar role.
- At least 5 years of experience within a vehicle maintenance and repair environment.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Experience carrying out servicing, repairs, and complex mechanical work independently.
- Ability to replace and repair components including brakes, suspension, exhausts, clutches, timing belts, and timing chains.
- Experience with head gasket replacements.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
- Full UK manual driving licence.
