Job summary

Ultra Intelligence & Communications is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer for our Cyber Centre of Excellence roles in Maidenhead and Farnborough. You will manage day-to-day on-site and air-gapped IT infrastructure, ensuring provisioning, security, and high availability while building a new platform from the ground up.

You will lead VDI operations, migrations, and cross-functional collaborations, with opportunities to influence local security and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure or solutions engineering roles.
• Ability to obtain/maintain the required level of security clearance.
• Strong ability to manage conflict resolution within the direct team, cross-functionally, and with external vendors.
• Proven experience working effectively in a global enterprise environment.
• Self-starter able to independently research solutions and manage multiple priorities.
• Problem solver with attention to detail and results-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise the on-premises VDI environment for high performance and security.
• Lead migrations and upgrades of VDI platforms to next-generation technologies.
• Collaborate with Architecture and Service Delivery teams and vendors to drive improvements across the VDI estate.
• Ensure VDI compliance with security standards and data protection regulations.
• Oversee incident and change management workflows for smooth operations.
• Maintain core infrastructure including servers and networks in line with certification requirements (e.g., ISO27001).
• Deliver strategic IT projects to improve services and efficiency.
• Maintain robust IT security posture and regulatory adherence.
• Coordinate regular DR/BC testing and ensure documentation is current.
• Provide input on new technology requirements and budget considerations.
