Job summary

Monks is seeking a user-centric UX Designer to translate user needs into intuitive digital experiences. You will contribute across the design process from research to high-fidelity UI, collaborating with clients and cross-functional teams to challenge assumptions and justify design decisions.

The role requires 8+ years in UX/UI, a strong portfolio, and expertise in Figma, design systems, and responsive accessibility. Remote-friendly with flexible schedules and a dynamic, design-led environment.

Qualifications

• Approximately 8+ years of experience in UX/UI design, digital product design, or a related field.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating UX thinking, problem-solving, design process, and final outcomes.
• Proficiency in Figma, including prototyping, component libraries, and design system creation and management.
• Strong understanding of user-centred design, interaction design, information architecture, and usability principles.
• Experience creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
• Knowledge of responsive design, mobile-first principles, accessibility, and visual design fundamentals.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and incorporate feedback constructively.

Responsibilities

• Understand user needs, behaviours, and business goals to inform design decisions.
• Conduct or support user research, usability testing, and desk research to identify pain points and opportunities.
• Create user journeys, information architecture, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
• Design intuitive, accessible, and responsive digital experiences across desktop and mobile.
• Translate UX concepts into polished interfaces aligned with client brand guidelines and usability principles.
• Build, maintain, and evolve design systems, component libraries, and style guides using Figma.
• Evaluate existing experiences, identify usability issues, and recommend actionable improvements.
• Collaborate with developers, product teams, and client stakeholders to deliver feasible, user-focused solutions.
• Present design concepts and clearly articulate design rationale, balancing user needs with business objectives.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining quality and meeting timelines.
