Job summary

RMG, a premier digital transformation consultancy partner, is seeking a Senior UX Designer in London to drive complex, strategic digital programmes with a user-centered focus.

Based out of West Kensington with a hybrid pattern (2–3 days a week on-site), you will lead end-to-end UX work, mentor designers, and collaborate with researchers, service designers and engineers to deliver impactful solutions.

Qualifications

• Substantial end-to-end UX design experience delivering complex digital platforms, applications or services.
• Full design lifecycle experience from discovery to prototyping.
• Proficiency with research platforms and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Steer end-to-end UX projects from discovery to delivery, aligning user needs with client objectives.
• Plan and synthesize moderated and unmoderated user research; run discovery workshops.
• Translate user flows into personas, journeys, IA, wireframes and interactive prototypes (Figma, Miro, Dovetail).
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and present design rationale to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with service designers, researchers and engineers to ensure smooth handover and implementation.
• Mentor mid-weight and junior designers and lead design critique sessions.

Are you a strategic, research-grounded designer looking to take your craft to the next level by delivering meaningful digital services across complex sectors?

RMG, a specialist technology recruiting agency, is partnering with a premier digital transformation consultancy to appoint a Senior UX Designer on a full-time, permanent basis. Based out of West Kensington, London, with a collaborative hybrid pattern (2–3 days a week on-site), this role places you at the heart of an established multidisciplinary practice uniting strategists, researchers, and technologists. You will drive digital change on high-visibility programmes, guiding initiatives from early problem definition to tangible execution while sharpening your design leadership and mentorship capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Steer end-to-end UX projects from initial discovery through to delivery, aligning user needs with strategic client objectives.
• Plan, lead, and synthesise both moderated and unmoderated user research, running interactive discovery workshops to uncover actionable insights.
• Translate complex user flows and system requirements into personas, user journeys, information architectures, wireframes, and interactive prototypes using tools like Figma, Miro, and Dovetail.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops, presenting design vision and rationales to senior client stakeholders with clarity and conviction.
• Collaborate closely with service designers, user researchers, and engineering teams to ensure seamless handover and design integrity through implementation.
• Guide project planning and mentor mid-weight and junior designers, fostering design critique sessions and supporting the team’s ongoing professional growth.

Required Skills & Experience

• Substantial end-to-end UX design experience delivering complex digital platforms, applications, or services.
• Proven hands‑on capability across the full design lifecycle, from discovery workshops and generative research to wireframing and prototyping.
• High proficiency in industry-standard tools including Figma, Miro, and user research platforms like Dovetail.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions to both technical teams and senior client leaders.
• UK right to work and eligibility for UK security clearance (visa sponsorship is not available for this position).

Nice-to-have

• Familiarity with the GOV.UK Design System, the GDS Service Standard, and public sector GDS assessment processes.
• Background designing digital journeys within financial services or banking environments.
• Practical experience mentoring designers or leading small project design squads.
• Previous background within a digital consultancy, agency, or professional services environment delivering multi-client work.
