Job summary

Vector Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Utility Surveyor in the South East region of England. The role focuses on leading underground utility mapping projects to PAS 128 standards, utilising GPR and electromagnetic locating technologies while coordinating with CAD and topographical teams.

You will mentor junior surveyors, ensure QA, and act as the on-site technical lead for clients and contractors, with a clear pathway into operations management or senior consultancy.

Qualifications

• Extensive field experience delivering utility mapping projects across highways, rail, and major infrastructure.
• In-depth knowledge of PAS 128 specifications and reporting standards.
• Proficient with electromagnetic locating equipment (RD8100/RD8200) and GPR systems (Leica, IDS, Mala).
• Valid CSCS Card and a full UK driving licence (mandatory).
• ProQual Level 3 or Level 5 in Utility Mapping and Surveying is advantageous.
• Leadership: supervise site teams, audit survey data, and ensure QA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex subsurface investigations using multi-channel GPR and EML.
• Oversee post-processing of GPR/EML data and coordinate with CAD/topographical teams.
• Mentor junior surveyors on-site and provide QA guidance.
• Act as on-site technical point of contact for clients and contractors.
