Job description

We are seeking a Senior Practitioner to join Stamford Out of Hours, providing face-to-face consultations and telephone triage.

Ideal candidates will have minor illness skills and relevant qualifications or experience working in a GP practice, complementing our team of GPs, ACPS, and HCSWs.

This is a part-time position for 18 hours weekly. The main duties include delivering services from 19:00 to 22:00, Monday to Friday, and from 08:00 to 22:00 on weekends and bank holidays, focusing on see, treat, and manage patients with minor illnesses.

Responsibilities include seeing, treating, managing, discharging, and referring patients of all ages to other LCHS or partner services across Lincolnshire. Occasionally, support may be needed for other urgent care services such as UTCs, home visits, and the Clinical Assessment Service (CAS), which operate 24/7. There is daily GP support available remotely or in person, with established referral pathways into specialties.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification and provide evidence of experience in treating minor illnesses. Holding a non-medical prescribing qualification or willingness to obtain one is essential.

We value individuals who demonstrate the right values and behaviours, with excellent leadership and communication skills.

If you are motivated, flexible, and eager to join this evolving service, this is an excellent opportunity to work with a highly skilled team providing quality care.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust is in the top 25% of community trusts for staff engagement (2021 NHS Staff Survey). We are committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion, encouraging applications from underrepresented candidates.

We support flexible working arrangements, including part-time, compressed hours, job shares, and hybrid models, to help staff balance personal and professional commitments.

We also offer learning opportunities through an ‘earn while you learn’ apprenticeship program. More information can be found at Learning and Development.
