Job summary

Upper Limb Specialty Doctor in Trauma & Orthopaedics at BHRUT (Queens Hospital, Romford) is a senior position for independent upper limb surgery. The post is 12 months fixed term, with full-time hours (10 sessions per week) and a competitive salary.

The role requires independent management of outpatient clinics, fracture clinics, and elective theatres, with opportunities to teach junior staff and participate in weekend trauma lists (1:8).

Qualifications

• MBBS/MRCS/FRCS or equivalent medical qualification and GMC registered.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and Excellent decision making at consultant level.
• Experience at middle grade level or substantial experience with independent elective upper limb clinics and theatres experience.
• Experience in Trauma services and virtual fracture clinics.
• Experience of managing emergency surgical patients.
• Equivalent experience in Trauma and Orthopaedics.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage patient care in outpatient clinics and fracture clinics.
• Run virtual fracture clinics and triage for elective upper limb and trauma theatres.
• Teach and support junior staff in the department.
• Work with consultants and multi-disciplinary teams on complex cases.
