Job summary

The Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an Upper Limb Senior Specialty Doctor in Trauma and Orthopaedics for the Romford site. The post is focused on independent upper limb clinics and theatres, with a requirement to perform hand and basic shoulder procedures and to manage elective lists with consultant support.

The role encompasses outpatient and fracture clinics, virtual fracture clinics, and weekend trauma lists, with opportunities to teach and support

Qualifications

• Experience in running elective upper limb clinics and theatres independently.
• Hand procedures such as carpal tunnel, trigger finger, Dupuytren’s.
• Basic shoulder procedures including arthroscopy (subacromial decompression, capsular release)

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care in outpatient clinics, fracture clinics, and virtual fracture clinics; triage and run elective upper limb and trauma theatres.
• Teach and support junior staff within the department; work with consultants on complex cases.
