Talk Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Programmer for a leading AAA Gaming Developer in the West Midlands. This role also considers remote work.

You will develop high quality game code for Unreal Engine 4 projects, collaborate with the Programming and Design teams, and implement gameplay systems with automated tests.

Qualifications

• Professional C++ experience in the games industry.
• Excellent understanding of Unreal Engine tools and actor-based pipeline.
• Strong knowledge of content structure and management of C++ code bases.
• Good debugging skills, with profiling and optimisation.
• In-depth knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 blueprint logic and gameplay logic.
• Ability to prototype quickly to match design criteria.
• High-quality production code for single and multiplayer games.
• Understanding of sound programming practices.
• Practical problem solving for 3D game development.
• Experience with Engine, AI, UI, Audio, Gameplay, Physics, Rendering, or Multiplayer.
• Experience with code reviews.
• Eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver high-quality game code for AAA Unreal 4 projects.
• Collaborate with the Programming & Design Team to deliver polished experiences.
• Create and maintain game logic for gameplay mechanics and automated tests.
• Profile and optimise code for memory and performance per platform.
• Scope tasks, meet deadlines and communicate with production.
• Mentor other engineers and share knowledge.
• Participate in code reviews as a reviewer, observer or author.
• Create technical designs and document systems.
• Provide support to other programmers when required.
• Integrate change lists from other streams where necessary.
• Work with leads to scope up new projects.
