Senior Underwriter - QBE Portfolio Solutions (QPS)

QPS is experiencing significant growth and is hiring a Senior Underwriter for our London team. This division is among the fastest growing and most profitable within QBE's Insurance Division. QPS offers broad coverage across broker facilities, MGA platforms, and algorithmic underwriting across multiple product lines and territories. Our team has expanded from 1 to 12 members in four years, reflecting our commitment to growth and excellence. Your Role:

1. Review and analyze existing portfolios and individual facilities/accounts to ensure profitability and promote growth.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including clients, brokers, and colleagues.
3. Contribute to shaping strategy, knowledge, and best practices within the team.
4. Follow the annual business plan and make informed decisions accordingly.
5. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
6. Adhere to underwriting standards and instructions to minimize risk and maximize efficiency.
7. Stay informed about market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness.

About You:

• Significant underwriting experience in open market, reinsurance, or binders.
• Ability to transfer individual line underwriting skills to broader insurance problems; portfolio underwriting experience is not mandatory.
• Strong rapport-building and stakeholder credibility skills.
• Proficient in data analysis for underwriting decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Flexible, adaptable to changing business needs.
