Job summary

AXIS Capital is seeking a dynamic professional for our Property Binders Team in London to drive underwriting under delegated authority across international territories including Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

You will manage Coverholders and Binding Authority Agreements, ensuring performance aligns with business objectives while liaising with brokers to identify new opportunities and maintain strong relationships.

Qualifications

• Understanding of delegated underwriting policy and procedures.
• Familiarity with FCA, PRA, and Lloyd’s compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting systems (PowerBI, Riskwrite, IRIS, Swordfish, Desktop).
• Ability to analyse data and present insights clearly.
• Influencing, negotiating, listening, and questioning skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal binder business within agreed authority and support referral underwriting.
• Take ownership of Coverholder relationships and Binding Authority Agreements, ensuring performance aligns with business objectives.
• Liaise with Brokers and Coverholders to identify and develop new business opportunities.
• Conduct regular Coverholder reviews and maintain strong working relationships.
• Collaborate with Conduct Risk and Compliance teams to ensure delegated authority standards are met.
• Communicate underwriting, audit, and conduct risk issues to the Unit Head or Deputy.
• Monitor and report emerging risks or control failures using formal channels.
• Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of underwriting systems and binder records.
• Coordinate delegated authority processes and support internal/external audits.
• Contribute to a culture that prioritizes fair treatment of customers and continuous improvement.
