Job summary

AXIS Capital in London seeks an experienced property binder underwriter to support international underwriting and delegated authority management. You will oversee Coverholders and Binding Authority Agreements, aligning performance with financial objectives and regulatory expectations.

The role involves collaborating with brokers, conducting reviews, and ensuring compliance across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, while maintaining a strong customer focus and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Full understanding of delegated underwriting policy and procedures.
• Familiarity with FCA, PRA, and Lloyd’s compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting systems (PowerBI, Riskwrite, IRIS, Swordfish, Desktop).
• Ability to analyse data and present insights clearly.
• Influencing, negotiating, listening, and questioning skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal binder business within agreed authority.
• Take ownership of Coverholder relationships and Binding Authority Agreements.
• Liaise with Brokers and Coverholders to identify new business opportunities.
• Conduct regular Coverholder reviews and maintain relationships.
• Collaborate with Conduct Risk and Compliance teams to meet standards.
• Communicate underwriting, audit, and conduct risk issues to leadership.
• Monitor and report emerging risks or control failures.
• Coordinate delegated authority processes and audits.
