Job summary

Radley James is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build the applications that trading, risk, and research teams rely on in real time. Located in London, the role focuses on frontend with TypeScript and production Python development, delivering features from user conversations to production.

You’ll work in a small team on order entry, execution monitoring, risk dashboards, and research visualisation, shaping frontend architecture and engineering practices for scalable development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack engineering experience with strong frontend depth.
• Proficient in TypeScript with Angular, React, or Vue (Angular preferred).
• Production Python experience building APIs or event-driven services.
• Experience delivering real-time applications with streaming updates and reconnection handling.

Responsibilities

• Building responsive trading screens, live data grids, and interactive visualisations for complex financial workflows.
• Developing Python services, APIs, and event-driven components supporting order management and trading operations.
• Connecting interfaces to live data through Kafka, WebSockets, and server-sent events.
• Ensuring applications handle connection failures, missed updates, and outdated data clearly and reliably.
• Developing TypeScript services that connect frontend applications with the wider platform.
• Working directly with trading desks, Risk, and Quant Research to turn feedback into practical improvements.
• Maintaining quality through automated testing, thoughtful design, and careful handling of errors.
