Job summary

Malvern Hills and Wychavon District Councils are seeking an experienced finance professional to join our Financial Services team. The role combines capital accounting with daily treasury management, offering scope to own and develop cash flow, budgets and capital programmes.

You will work with the Principal Accountant to monitor five-year capital plans, support year-end processes and provide advice across the Council. Strong Excel and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in treasury management or cash investment.
• Experience in preparing and monitoring budgets and year-end accounts.
• Strong Excel skills and confident with financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee capital budgets and five-year capital programme.
• Support closure of capital accounts and contribute to the Statement of Accounts.
• Manage day-to-day cash flow and treasury activities, including cash-flow forecasts.
• Provide financial advice to officers and liaise with auditors; VAT support.
