Job summary

WSP is seeking a Monitoring & Evaluation specialist to design and deliver projects for transport policy monitoring and evaluation across local and central government clients in the UK.

You will work with senior experts, apply government guidance, and translate evidence into actionable insights for policymakers and stakeholders. The role offers hybrid working and clear opportunities to grow within a global engineering firm.

Qualifications

• Proven capability in designing and executing monitoring and evaluation frameworks for policies, programmes and / or projects.
• Experience applying quasi-experimental and theory-based evaluation methods.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with ability to deliver robust mixed-method analyses.
• Experience with data visualization and communicating evidence through clear visuals (Excel, Power BI, R, Python, SPSS or Stata).
• Familiarity with government guidance on monitoring and evaluation (HM Treasury Magenta/Green Books, Transport Appraisal Guidance).
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to tailor messages to clients and stakeholders.
• Experience building and maintaining client relationships and contributing to project outcomes.
• A passion for evidence-informed decision-making and analytical quality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver multi-discipline monitoring and evaluation projects for local and national transport policies, programmes or projects.
• Provide expert monitoring and evaluation advice to help clients meet objectives and maximise benefits.
• Collaborate with other WSP experts to bring necessary skills to projects.
• Contribute to growth of the Monitoring and Evaluation expertise area to support delivery.
