Job summary

National Highways seeks a Senior Transport Planner to provide transport planning services, analyse networks, and model strategic interventions. You will appraise options and value-for-money, working with NH sponsors, PMs, DfT and other stakeholders.

The role supports training and capacity building across the Transport Planning Group. The position offers flexible working across England with travel between offices required and an emphasis on analytical delivery, assurance framing, and advisory

Qualifications

• Provide detailed technical transport planning expertise, including strategic modelling and appraisal across schemes.
• Deliver transport planning focused analysis and research, managing the supply chain.
• Apply the Analytical Assurance Framework to deliver proportionate risk-based analysis on schemes.
• Engage with NH sponsors, PMs, and external bodies to develop transport planning and appraisal plans.

Responsibilities

• Deliver transport planning services using analytical skills to identify network problems and propose solutions.
• Model strategic interventions and appraise options to support scheme and policy decisions.
