Overview

Job Title: Senior Transport Planner (x2 Positions Available)

Location: Bristol or Surrey

Are you an experienced Transport Planner looking to take the next step in your career? Do you have a passion for transport infrastructure and the skills to tackle complex transport challenges? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a growing and dynamic company as a Senior Transport Planner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of technical reports, including access appraisals, transport statements, and comprehensive transport assessments.
  • Conduct junction capacity modeling, ensuring accurate predictions of traffic behavior and network impacts.
  • Utilise industry software (for example, TRICS, TemPro, ARCADY, PICADY, LinSig, etc.) to inform decision-making and provide actionable insights.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and tailor solutions effectively, maintaining high levels of communication throughout project lifecycles.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and legal requirements in the transport sector, ensuring all projects comply with current regulations.
  • Participate in public consultations, stakeholder meetings, and planning inquiries when required.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure an integrated approach to project development.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Relevant degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transport planning, including significant exposure to technical report writing and transport assessments.
  • Proficiency in transport modeling software and techniques, with a strong analytical background.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining productive relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • A full UK driving license is preferable.
