Senior Transport Planner

Location: Birmingham

Due to growth, our client is seeking a Senior/Principal Transport Planner to join their expanding team in Birmingham.

The team handles a diverse range of projects across the UK, including Residential, Retail, and Education schemes, supporting both Birmingham and Bristol offices.

The Role

You will be:

1. Managing and working on complex Transport Planning Projects
2. Leading the development and delivery of these projects
3. Promoting development sites from identification and acquisition through planning applications and conditions

You will collaborate with the Transport team to provide high-quality consultancy advice, understand client requirements, and manage resources effectively. Additionally, you'll support and mentor junior staff while enhancing your project management and commercial skills. A solid understanding of Transport Planning Policy and project delivery is essential.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience with Transport Statements, Assessments, and Travel Plans
• Knowledge of Parking Strategies, Sustainable Transport, Section 278 and 106 agreements, and guidance such as NPPF
• Proficiency with the TRICS database
• Experience using PICADY, ARCADY, and understanding of LINSIG
• Understanding of Transport Modelling and its applications
• Junction design experience (Roundabout, Signals)
