Job summary

Maritime Transport Ltd. is seeking a Transport Operator at the Doncaster iPort depot. The role involves managing multiple drivers, coordinating with ports, and booking delivery slots to ensure timely port entries.

The successful candidate will use TOPS to record driver start/finish times, chase ETAs, reroute jobs when needed, and ensure PODs align with system records. Excellent UK geography and strong initiative are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Transport/Traffic Operator – Essential.
• Confident and clear communicator – written and verbal.
• Excellent UK geographical knowledge.
• Can work on own initiative.
• Quick and efficient problem solving skills.
• Organised at all times.
• Flexibility to meet the demands of the business.

Responsibilities

• Dealing with multiple drivers
• Communicating with ports
• Booking delivery slots for entry in ports
• Using a Transport system called TOPS for putting down drivers start times and finish times
• Chasing drivers for ETAs and making sure they are on time
• Rerouting jobs as and when is needed
• Checking all PODS are matched up with all the correct jobs on the system
• Speaking to customers on possible delays advising ETAs
