Job summary

WR Logistics is seeking an experienced Transport Operator to join our team at London Gateway, Essex. The role focuses on routing plan for company owned vehicles across the UK, ensuring cost-effective and compliant operations.

You will work closely with the Manager to ensure drivers operate within WTD and Hours rules, keep customers updated, handle admin tasks, and perform costing and rate negotiations with contractors using TOPS, Destin8 and VBS systems.

Qualifications

• Extensive UK transport route planning skills.
• Container experience is required.
• Excellent UK geographical knowledge.
• Strong communication skills.
• TOPS, Destin8 and VBS systems knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Routing company owned vehicles across the UK.
• Plan routes in a cost-effective manner.
• Plan routes in line with WTD and Drivers Hours.
• Keep customers up to date on progress.
• Complete all necessary admin tasks.
• Work with the Manager to ensure vehicle compliance with company standards.

Job description

Transport Operator- London Gateway, Essex

Our client who are a transport Company are currently looking for an experienced Container Transport Operator to join their team at London Gateway.

As Transport Operator, you will be tasked to route plan company owned vehicles across the UK.

Job type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £45,000

Hours: Monday to Friday | 08:00- 18:00 (1 hour break)

Day-to-day:

• Routing company owned vehicles
• You must plan routes as cost-effectively as possible
• Plan routes in line with WTD and Drivers Hours
• Ensure all customers are kept up to date
• All necessary admin must be completed
• You will be working with the Manager to ensure that all vehicles are in compliance with company standards
• Perform and correctly implement General Administration, e.g. costing, agreeing charge rates with contractors, queries in accordance with the companies' requirements.
