SRG Recruitment seeks an experienced Transport Manager to lead a busy transport operation in Fareham, overseeing 4 Transport Planners and around 150 drivers. You will drive route planning, performance, safety, compliance and cost efficiency in a hands-on leadership role.

The role requires strong people-management skills, excellent organisation, and proven ability to manage large fleets within a logistics environment. Monday–Friday 6am–6pm, with occasional Saturdays and a 37.5-hour week.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport supervisory role.
• Experience managing a sizeable transport operation and a large driver workforce.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation and driver hours.
• Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-focused with continuous improvement mindset.

Responsabilités

• Oversee the daily transport operation, ensuring deliveries and collections are planned and executed efficiently.
• Manage and support a team of 4 Transport Planners, ensuring effective route planning, resource allocation and driver utilisation.
• Oversee a driver workforce of approximately 150 drivers, maintaining high standards of performance and accountability.
• Ensure the effective deployment of vehicles and drivers to meet operational demands and customer requirements.
• Monitor daily transport performance, resolving operational issues, delays and service failures promptly.
• Identify opportunities to improve route efficiency, vehicle utilisation and productivity.
