Job summary

RELOcruitment Ltd is assisting a well-established specialist logistics operator in recruiting a Transport Logistics Supervisor. This desk-based, planning-heavy role sits at the heart of the operation, keeping resources and schedules running smoothly behind the scenes.

You’ll manage a team of 15+ drivers, coordinate weekly domestic activity, and provide hands-on support when issues arise. A proactive, organised mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transport, fleet planning, logistics or distribution.
• Previous supervisory or team-leading experience.
• Hardworking, hands-on and willing to get stuck in.
• Ability to manage a range of driver personalities and stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent UK geographical knowledge.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Proactive problem-solver, able to think on your feet.
• Willing to be reachable by mobile/WhatsApp outside normal hours for urgent driver queries.

Responsibilities

• Managing rotas and availability for 15+ drivers and technicians, scheduling collections and deliveries.
• Planning and coordinating weekly domestic logistics activity and adapting plans as needed.
• Providing phone support to drivers on the road and acting as a calm point of contact.
• Monitoring driver hours, CPC compliance and holiday/timekeeping.
• Coordinating vehicle servicing, MOTs and workshop visits.
• Assisting with import/export customs processes for cross-border jobs.
• Building client relationships, providing quotations and follow-up.
• Collaborating with Projects, Shipping, Customs and Warehouse teams and supporting recruitment of drivers.
