SRG Recruitment Ltd in Fareham is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to lead a busy transport operation, overseeing 4 Transport Planners and around 150 drivers. The role focuses on delivering efficient planning, safety, compliance and cost control in a fast-paced logistics environment.

You will manage daily operations, drive improvements in route efficiency and driver utilisation, and lead a team to meet service levels and customer requirements.

• Proven experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport supervisory role.
• Experience managing a sizeable transport operation and a large driver workforce.
• Demonstrable experience leading and developing a team of transport planners.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation, drivers' hours and operational compliance.

• Ensure drivers are appropriately trained, licensed and competent for their roles.
• Support audits, investigations and corrective actions where required.
• Ensure customer delivery requirements and service-level agreements are consistently achieved.
• Manage escalations relating to missed deliveries, service issues and operational disruptions.
• Communicate effectively with senior management regarding operational performance, risks and improvement opportunities.

SRG Recruitment are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Manager to lead our transport operation based in Fareham, overseeing a team of 4 Transport Planners and approximately 150 drivers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the transport function, ensuring the efficient planning and execution of deliveries, maintaining high levels of customer service, and driving operational performance, safety, compliance and cost efficiency.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong people-management skills, excellent organisational ability and a proven track record in managing a large transport operation within a fast-paced logistics or distribution environment.

About the role:

• Monday to Friday 6am - 6pm on a rotational basis
• Occasional Saturdays
• Contracted to 37.5 hours per week
