Job summary

Booker is recruiting for a Transport Team Manager at our Booker site to support the site management team in efficient, safe, legal and cost‑effective transport operations, achieving optimum service levels across contracts while working to KPIs. Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 2pm–10pm.

Reporting to the Transport Operations Manager, you will manage KPI targets, vehicle maintenance and driver compliance, and coordinate with Warehouse to ensure timely departures. CPC qualification is desirable.

Qualifications

• Excellent people management and development skills.
• Shows initiative, focus and flexibility.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, Employment Law and discrimination issues.
• Understanding of transport legislation and operator licence implications.
• Knowledge of multi-temperature warehouse/transport procedures.
• Ability to plan labour to meet KPIs and service levels.
• Strong teamwork and effective communication.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and WMS systems.
• Desirable CPC qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support site management in efficient, safe transport operations.
• Manage vehicle breakdowns and coordinate with Warehouse for loading.
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation and licensing requirements.
• Drive continuous improvements and KPI achievement across contracts.
