Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant Transport Modeller to join the Transport Planning team in Bristol, Exeter or Taunton. The role focuses on strategic modelling with PTV VISUM and microsimulation, delivering robust evidence for infrastructure investment and development planning.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, develop models, calibrate forecasts and provide client-ready outputs, while mentoring junior staff and supporting project delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport modelling, particularly development and application of PTV VISUM models.
• Strong knowledge of model calibration, validation and forecasting.
• Experience delivering modelling studies for local authorities, developers or highways clients.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Developing, calibrating, validating and applying strategic transport models with emphasis on PTV VISUM.
• Building microsimulation models using VISSIM, Aimsun and Paramics.
• Undertaking forecasting, scenario testing and option appraisal for projects.
• Analyzing model outputs and providing evidence-based client recommendations.
• Preparing technical reports, presentations and client deliverables.
• Mentoring junior team members and supporting project delivery.
