Job summary

Stantec is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Consultant or Senior Consultant Transport Modeller to join our growing Transport Modelling team in Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham or Edinburgh. You will work on strategic modelling, microsimulation, appraisal, data analytics and digital innovation for clients across public and private sectors.

You’ll contribute to delivering projects using VISUM, CUBE, SATURN, EMME and other tools, while developing your career within a leading multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• A degree in Transport Planning, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related discipline.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in transport modelling and strategic modelling principles.
• Proven capability in VISUM, CUBE, SATURN and/or EMME.
• Experience with Paramics, VISSIM, Aimsun, DIADEM or TUBA would be advantageous.
• Experience delivering modelling projects for public and/or private sector clients.
• Strong report-writing and communication skills, with ability to explain technical findings clearly.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Interest in project management, proposals, tenders and commercial bids.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues would be beneficial.
• Membership of, or progress towards, CIHT or CILT.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and Python.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical modelling tasks for a range of clients, supporting junior team members.
• Develop, calibrate, validate and apply strategic transport models.
• Use modelling outputs to support project appraisal and scheme development.
• Communicate modelling results through reports, presentations and client discussions.
• Keep up to date with transport policy, guidance and best practice.
• Provide technical guidance, training and oversight to junior modellers.
• Support project management activities including tenders, budgets and invoicing.
• Role can be tailored to align with interests and business goals.
