Job summary

Loom Talent is seeking a Senior Transport Manager for a well-established distribution business in the West Midlands. You will take ownership of a large-scale transport operation and lead from the front.

The role focuses on performance across service, cost, compliance and people, with significant operational responsibility and opportunity to shape longer-term transport strategy. You will work with warehousing, supply chain teams and senior stakeholders to deliver end-to-end improvements and cost

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Senior Transport Manager or similar senior transport leadership role.
Experience leading a large-scale transport operation within retail/3PL/FMCG or distribution.
Strong knowledge of Operator Licence, DVSA compliance, and transport legislation.
Experience managing transport budgets, costs and KPIs with a track record of cost control.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day performance of a large-scale transport operation.
Coach and develop transport managers, planners and teams.
Drive service, cost, fleet utilisation and delivery KPIs.
Own transport budgets and identify cost-saving/efficiency opportunities.
Ensure compliance with Operator Licence, DVSA, drivers' hours and WTD.
Improve route planning, fleet utilisation and processes.
Lead Continuous Improvement and transport projects.
Collaborate with warehousing and wider supply chain to boost end-to-end performance.
Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and customers.
Create a high-performing transport culture with accountability.
