Job summary

Bidfood in Slough is recruiting a Transport Manager to lead the transport operation, driving compliance, safety, and efficiency across a large HGV fleet. You will coach drivers and managers, oversee maintenance and incident responses, and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and service levels.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive knowledge of transport legislation, and proven experience in a distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading transport teams and senior transport leadership roles.
• Solid knowledge of transport legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience managing large HGV fleets including maintenance planning and repairs.
• Strong leadership and people management skills; able to drive safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with transport legislation including Operator Licence, Driver Hours Regulations, and Working Time Directive.
• Develop and coach a team of drivers, transport managers and administrative staff.
• Foster health, safety, and compliance culture across the department.
• Investigate incidents, manage corrective actions, ensure robust processes.
• Manage a large HGV fleet for maximum availability and maintenance scheduling.
