Job summary

Cancer Research UK is seeking a Senior Principal Scientist in Therapeutic Translation to evaluate CRUK’s research portfolio and identify translational opportunities across national and international collaborations. You will shape hypotheses, collaborate with PIs, and drive strategic interventional funding to accelerate cancer therapeutics.

The role requires deep translational insight, strong networking abilities, and a track record in translating discovery biology into medicines.

Qualifications

PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline with oncology drug discovery experience.
Expertise in identifying and developing small molecule therapies and/or biotherapeutics.
Understanding of the drug development pipeline from discovery to clinical development.

Responsibilities

Support the implementation of the Therapeutic Translation strategy.
Identify translational opportunities from current CRUK-funded research.
Collaborate with PIs, CRUK Institutes, and international partners to evaluate opportunities.
Perform detailed reviews of opportunities and shape new hypotheses and proposals.
Signpost translational schemes and assist EOIs and TI collaborations.
Promote the Therapeutic Translation team's visibility within the research community.
