About Royal Mail

Royal Mail is looking to add an experienced Senior Transformation Portfolio Lead to our team. We are undergoing a significant period of change, focusing on building a green, optimized network, developing advanced supply chain technology, and modernizing our iconic logistics operations. This is an exciting time to join us.

About the Role

This key senior leadership position involves shaping and managing the Royal Mail Transformation portfolio to ensure timely delivery of benefits. Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading the alignment of the Transformation plan with the RM Strategy.
  2. Managing the Transformation Portfolio to realize planned benefits.
  3. Assessing risks, issues, dependencies, and financial performance to identify gaps and opportunities.
  4. Overseeing the Strategic Transformation Portfolio, including planning, KPIs, proof points, and critical timelines.
  5. Collaborating with project and programme managers and stakeholders to define benefits and value metrics.
  6. Coordinating workforce supply/demand within the Transformation plan and escalating resource gaps to the Head of Group Transformation.
About You

You should have a proven track record in Transformation portfolio management, with significant experience influencing senior leaders. Key qualities include:

  • 3-5+ years in strategic planning and transformation delivery, preferably with a consultancy background.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations and communicate clearly.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills at senior levels, including Executive Board.
  • Capability to provide strategic challenge and ensure alignment with wider policies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, presentation skills, and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A passion for driving positive organizational change.
Next Steps

The next stage involves a face-to-face interview at Farringdon, including competency-based questions and a presentation. Interviews are planned for the week commencing 2nd June.
