Job Description

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Transaction Specialist to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.

As a Senior Transaction Specialist, you will work within the Rates & FX Transaction Management team in the Markets Middle Office, providing technical, analytical, and advisory support to key stakeholders across various complex market products. Strong communication skills and the ability to work under critical deadlines are essential. You should have expertise in financial products such as interest rate swaps, FX, Futures & CDS, and an understanding of regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities

• Provide Transaction Management services to all Financial and Capital Markets Sales & Trading teams.
• Act as the first point of contact for Front office, clients, and Markets Operations teams, including escalation of operational queries.
• Manage market lifecycle activities including Compression, Novation, terminations, options exercises, backloading, and late clearing.
• Coordinate with control functions to resolve discrepancies and ensure trades reach Summit and feed trader risk positions.
• Deliver professional service to internal and external clients and contribute to ongoing improvements.
• Assist in resolving client queries, conduct root cause analysis, and develop action plans for continuous improvement.
• Support a cost-effective target operating model that adapts to evolving business needs.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships through performance metrics and engagement.
• Develop and interpret procedures and policies for Markets Middle Office and advise on their application.
• Ensure regulatory compliance by liaising with risk management functions and supporting policy implementation.
• Adhere to Group policies, procedures, quality standards, and statutory requirements.
• Report on MI, KPI, and KRI metrics, and stay informed on industry and regulatory developments.
• Assist stakeholders with programme objectives, ensuring market-leading solutions and supporting change initiatives.
