Job summary

Slough Borough Council is seeking a proactive Trading Standards professional for a permanent role in Public Health, Public Protection, Engagement and Communities. DCATS (or equivalent) is required, with the food standards module or progress toward it and metrology knowledge.

You will manage a caseload, inspect Primary Authority companies, and participate in regulatory projects. A minimum of five years' experience is required, with cross-team collaboration with Licensing and Environmental Health

Qualifications

• Must have DCATS (or equivalent) in Trading Standards.
• Food standards module or working towards it; Metrology module desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the profession.

Responsibilities

• Manage own caseload in Trading Standards and related duties.
• Inspect Primary Authority companies and participate in regulatory projects.
• Contribute to regional and national regulator work and cross-team collaboration.
• Collaborate with Licensing and Environmental Health teams as needed.
