Job summary

London Borough of Bexley is seeking a dedicated Trading Standards professional to join the Public Protection team. You will investigate complaints, interpret and enforce consumer protection laws, and contribute to multi-agency operations.

The role requires a DTS, DCATS, or equivalent qualification or extensive trading standards experience, with opportunities to specialise in key areas and to train businesses and partners.

Qualifications

• DTS, DCATS or equivalent professional qualification or extensive proven experience within Trading Standards.
• Experience enforcing consumer protection, unfair trading practices and licensing regimes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a public protection environment.

Responsibilities

• Investigate complaints and service demands within Trading Standards.
• Interpret and enforce relevant legislation across fraud, safety, IP, doorstep crime, and licensing Act.
• Develop and implement projects based on intelligence and trends.
